On the drawing board ... school dance

I had a great time today talking to some friends about what to wear to an upcoming school fundraiser/silent auction we're all attending.  We got on the topic of wearing our smashing prom dress/bridesmaid's dresses to the event.  (Which I seriously plan on doing if I can find one in my closet, or at a thrift store).  Now, if I can get my husband to find a powder blue tux.

Which brought on a little inspiration... and while I'm at it ... this seems like a good fit for the Illustration Fridays this week -Heights ... Doesn't the straight-arm dance, with the shell-shocked faces, as well as the tacky stars just send you back to your first school dance?

Haha, oh my gosh, so funny. I don't know that I went to any school dances, but I can tell you me and two other girls were always the tallest (and most awkward) in all our elementary school photos! Wonderful job with their expressions and outfits.

Oh, yes! Brings back memories! Fortunately for the boys who danced with me, I was SHORT! Love their expressions & the blue tux!! Great take on the theme!
