Illustration Friday - Separated

This kitty will see to it that he and his boy are never separated.
This illustration was just a doodle I was doing while watching The Green Lantern last night.  As you can see in my original image below, my paper was slightly used (notice the ghost erasure marks above kitty's head), and I just threw down some color.  I tried to clean it up a bit for IF, and decided to turn it black and white just for fun.  Which do you like better?

I really like them both! No help from me... Actually, I have become a huge fan of b&w work, it is so full of value! haha

Really cute illustration! Usually I would favor the black and white but I really like the soft, warm tones you used in the color piece.

haha! Nina!!

Thanks Siolo. I think I'm leaning toward the original piece too. I also liked the softness the browns/siena added to the piece.

Facebook has ruined me, I keep looking for the 'like' button! The softness of the tones is so cozy, just like the illustrated scene. My 12 year old son is a total cat lady and wanted me to print out this picture for him.

I'm leaning toward the bottom image, too. Nicely done, Michelle! By the way I still have your little drawing in my kitchen--the one you mailed when you sent the check for the domain. It makes me smile. :)

Miss you, Ann Marie!! Thanks for your sweet comments. I hope everything is going well for you and your family! The girls still have their monsters and think of you fondly!

What an adorable fluffy kitty with her boy. Great sketchy style. I think in this case I like the colored one also. Gives it a little more warmth.
