I am working on my next postcard mailing. This is the sketch, what do you think? How can I improve it? Is the composition OK? Are the characters varied enough (George Washington is going to be African American, the Statue of Liberty Asian American), are they expressive enough?

I see that you have not gotten replies about this, so I'm giving my two cents. :o)
I LOVE it. I think is wonderful. The kids are great, the expressions are great too. I like that each kid is behaving differently and like actual kids too. I like the postures. Its' great!
My only suggestion regarding the composition is there one of the points of the statue of liberty is touching the line of the floor. Try to overlap that so that there is no touching.
This is going to look great in color!
