Dogs are such great pals.  I can't tell you how often our girls read to our dog, Lucy.  She just sits there like a good dog, listening, and then hands them her paw.   They always end up giggling.

Our girls recently participated in the PTA Reflections program.  It's a wonderful national program that celebrates the arts, and in this day and age with so many art/music programs being cancelled, it's all that more important.  (If you're school doesn't participate, think about it ... My husband is teaching a graduate class in Thermodynamics.  It's mid-term time and one of the questions he's giving them has to do with two guys and a distillery.   He asked me if I could draw a picture to go with the question, and being the sweet and wonderful wife that I am, of course I said "yes.   I had fun drawing Cleatis and Emit; hope the Thermo students enjoy them too.  :)

 I have done illustrations/paintings for fam and friends, but it only just dawned on me that I've never actually made any framable art for our own girls.  So this was a sketch I started doing for our youngest... only she wanted one of her with animals instead (she wants to be a conservationist).  So, it's back to the drawing board ... haha literally, to come up with something else for her.

Whew... cutting it close this week ... Wednesday's are busy days in our house.  The girls have their music lessons Weds after school, so by the time we get home, we're scrambling for dinner, homework, stories, all before the bedtime hour which comes so quickly.   Yesterday, Mommy's warning of "calm down and get ready for bed" went unheard until "Angry Mom" reared her head.  Sigh.  :)

Growing up, I didn't see my grandparents at every holiday gathering.  My American grandparents died when I was little, and my Oma and Opa lived in Germany.   Despite the distance, I felt very close to my Oma.  When we would visit, I loved running upstairs into her room and snuggling with her (And eating her stash of Ritter Sport chocolates).  She died a few years ago, and I miss her.  When I
